I’m thrilled to introduce you to one of my favorite hotel brands, Hoshino Resorts OMO! This time, I had the chance to experience OMO7 Osaka for the first time—and let me tell you, it was beyond exceptional!
I’ve stayed at multiple OMO locations across Japan, but this was my first time at an “OMO7” property, and the experience was on a whole different level! If you’re considering a stay, I hope this review helps you decideX))
What is the “OMO” Brand by Hoshino Resorts?
Hoshino Resorts is known for its luxury accommodations in Japan, but some of their high-end properties can cost tens of thousands of yen per night—making them a splurge for special occasions.
That’s where the OMO brand comes in! It offers the same renowned Hoshino hospitality at a more affordable price point.
OMO hotels are urban-style hotels that integrate seamlessly with their local communities. They feature “Gokinjyo Maps(Walking distance map)” showcasing nearby recommended spots and even offer guided tours with OMO Rangers(OMO’s staff) to help guests explore the city’s history and culture.
Understanding the OMO Number System
OMO hotels are categorized by numbers from 1 to 7, with lower numbers resembling hostels and higher numbers offering a more luxurious experience.
OMO7 Osaka is at the top of the scale, making it the closest OMO property to the high-end experience of Hoshino Resorts’ luxury brands. While their premium hotels can cost over 100,000 yen per night, OMO7 Osaka starts at just 12,000 yen per night—a fantastic option for both travelers and locals looking for a special staycation!

If you’ve stayed at other OMO properties, you might be surprised! OMO7 Osaka is a step above a typical business hotel.
- Unlike other OMO hotels, this one provides loungewear for guests!
- The 2nd-floor lounge has plenty of sofas and spaces to relax.
- Located right in front of JR Shin-Imamiya Station, offering a perfect view of the hotel’s light-up activities at night!

Unlimited Takoyaki & Craft Beer – No Reservation Required
One of the highlights was the PIKAPIKA NIGHT, held every evening!
- Enjoy all-you-can-eat freshly grilled takoyaki in the hotel’s garden, paired with
- Unlimited craft beer and soft drinks
- Watch light fireworks displayed on the hotel’s exterior every 30 minutes from 7:45 PM to 9:45 PM
The takoyaki may be small, but they’re authentic and served piping hot! Some of the light fireworks even feature Osaka-themed designs and seasonal displays.
Deep Dive into Osaka’s Kushikatsu Culture – Reservation Required (Paid)
For 1,000 yen + food costs, you can join a guided Kushikatsu Tour in Shinsekai!
- Visit famous yet less touristy local kushikatsu spots
- Exclusive OMO-only menu options at some stops!
- Make sure to arrive hungry—this tour is all about eating!
Budget Tip: Expect to spend around 5,000 yen for food at three different restaurants. Some places only accept cash, so be prepared!
Discover Osaka’s Dashi Culture – Reservation Required (Free)
Take a guided trip to Kizu Wholesale Market, a local market packed with Osaka’s rich dashi (broth) history.
- Learn about dashi ingredients like kombu, bonito flakes, and dried sardines
- Talk to market vendors passionate about Osaka’s food culture
- You can even buy souvenirs or grab breakfast at the market!

Start Your Day Right – Delicious Breakfast Options!
- Casual Café & Bar: Morning sets like Croque Monsieur (1,250 yen~)
- Restaurant Buffet: Enjoy a full buffet experience (3,000 yen per adult)
If you don’t join the dashi tour, I highly recommend the hotel breakfast!
